Most of the scientific research was carried out at actually operating large facilities: on Moscow wastewater treatment (MWWT), on the organization of solid waste landfills, on the disposal of sewage sludge, on the development of monitoring systems (bio-testing and bio-indication).
Doctoral thesis (Dr. of Biological Science) is the result of analysis of the ecological state of the Moscow water system since the end of the 19th century. Author of a number of books and dozens of articles on the problems of wastewater treatment and river self-cleaning. Nataliya gives lectures to masters and graduate students of the Soil Science Faculty of Moscow State University and the Institute of Water Problems of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
